Set in the mythical Wild West, an aging cowboy deals with the passage of time, while vividly recalling a life's defining moment with an older woman of his youth.

I am particularly fond of this short story because it came to me in its entirety during a dream one night. I simply woke up, wrote down the dream as I had remembered it, and there it was. I made few changes if any, limiting editing to polishing my grammar.

I wish all of my stories could come to me so easily. Unfortunately, this was the first and only time.
