Jesus In The Sun

Spied a wayward woman with a crooked, quirky smile
Singing to herself, spinning dancing all the while
Knew right away as she swayed through the square
She might touch my heart, but never stay there

Came up beside her and offered my name
Had time to share, did she wanna do the same?
With a ballerina’s turn, into my soul she peered
Saw how time and circumstance aged my years
And held out a hand

Thought I heard her whisper
Rainbow streams
Colors of love
Pastel clouds
Ivory doves
Desert quiet
Blue sky above
I've seen Jesus
In the Sun

Follow if you like, but leave doubts well behind
Release your fears, if you follow you will find
Didn’t wait for my answer, she was off with a start
Skipped through the rain, storms drifting apart

Searching for something, someone, somewhere
And when they appear, we’ll know what we have to share
Lips to mine, knocked my world unsteady
Gently, she said, In good time you’ll be ready

Thought I heard her whisper
Lily petals
In a meadow lush
Swirls of genius
From Monet’s brush
Sweet first kiss
With a teen crush
I've seen Jesus
In the sun

Found myself alone at the center of the fair
Smiling, watching happy faces everywhere
As one we held hands, danced in blissful elation
Savoring the lesson of life’s celebration

Butterfly flutters a curious fawn
Earthy mist on a summer dawn
Newborn sleeping at her mama’s cheek
Midnight moon upon a mountain peak.
Kiss before dying, farewell whispers
Enraptured lovers, desire simmers
Silver sparkles on an open sea
Written words, now and to be

Beauty is Jesus In the Sun
Life is Jesus In The Sun
